Comparison review
Huawei Mate X2 is better than the Galaxy A12, getting a score of 89.1 against 80.3. Both phones in this review have the same Android 10 OS, so you shouldn't perceive any differences in that aspect. Although Huawei Mate X2 and the Galaxy A12 were only released with a couple months difference, Huawei Mate X2's construction is just a bit thinner but noticeably heavier than the Galaxy A12.
Huawei Mate X2 has a much better looking display than Samsung Galaxy A12, because it has a larger display, a lot better display pixels density and a much better resolution of 2200 x 2480px. Huawei Mate X2 features a bit more powerful processor than Galaxy A12, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Huawei Mate X2 also has a greater amount of RAM.
Huawei Mate X2 counts with a bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy A12, because it has a way better 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, a back-facing camera with more megapixels and a larger camera aperture for better low-light images. The Huawei Mate X2 has a slightly better storage to install games and applications than Galaxy A12, because although it has no external SD slot, it also counts with 256 GB internal storage capacity.
The Samsung Galaxy A12 has just a little better battery life than Huawei Mate X2, because it has a 5000mAh battery capacity against 4500mAh.
