The Xperia 1 is slightly better than the Samsung Galaxy A12, having an 82.6 score against 80.3. The Xperia 1 body is a little thinner and somewhat lighter than the Samsung Galaxy A12, although it was released just a bit further than a year before. Xperia 1 features a much better looking screen than Galaxy A12, and although they both have a display of the same size, the Xperia 1 also has a lot better 1644 x 3840 resolution and a way higher pixels density.
The Sony Xperia 1 features a bit bigger memory for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy A12, because although it has a slot for SD memory cards that holds 512 GB smaller, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage capacity. Sony Xperia 1 counts with just a little better performance than Galaxy A12, and although they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Sony Xperia 1 also has a greater amount of RAM memory.
The Samsung Galaxy A12 counts with a much longer battery life than Sony Xperia 1, because it has a 5000mAh battery size. Samsung Galaxy A12 takes just a bit better photos and videos than Xperia 1, because although it has a smaller camera aperture which is not recommended for low light captures and video, and they both have the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video definition, the Samsung Galaxy A12 also counts with a much better resolution back camera and better 30 frames per second video frame rate.
