Huawei Mate 8 is a bit better than Galaxy A5, having a 77.4 score against 72.4. Although the Huawei Mate 8 is newer than the Galaxy A5, it's extremely heavier and thicker. The Galaxy A5 has a little sharper screen than Huawei Mate 8, although it has a quite lower screen pixels density, a little bit smaller screen and a way worse 1280 x 720 resolution. The Huawei Mate 8 counts with a very superior storage capacity to store more apps and games than Samsung Galaxy A5, because it has more internal memory capacity and a slot for an external memory card that supports a maximum of 128 GB.
The Huawei Mate 8 has a much better battery life than Samsung Galaxy A5, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity against 2300mAh. Huawei Mate 8 features a superior camera than Galaxy A5, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 video resolution, the Huawei Mate 8 also has better 60 fps video frame rates and a more megapixels back-facing camera.
Although Huawei Mate 8 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Galaxy A5, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Galaxy A5. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy Galaxy A5, letting go a few specs and features, but you will get the most out of your budget.
