The Galaxy Note8 has a score of 83, which is better than the Galaxy A5's 72.4 general score. The Galaxy Note8 body is a lot newer than Galaxy A5's, but it's noticeably heavier and extremely thicker. These devices use Android operating system, but Galaxy Note8 has a newer 9.0 Pie version and Galaxy A5 has Android 4.4.4 version.
