Xperia XZ2 Premium is much better than the Galaxy A5, having a global score of 82.2 against 72.4. The Xperia XZ2 Premium design is a lot newer, but extremely heavier and noticeably thicker than Galaxy A5. Xperia XZ2 Premium features just a little better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy A5, because although it has doesn't have a graphics processing unit and a 32-bit processor instead of 64-bits, it also counts with a higher number of cores and a larger amount of RAM memory.
Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium features a much more vibrant screen than Samsung Galaxy A5, because it has a much better display pixel density, a much better resolution of 2160 x 3840 and a bigger screen. The Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with a much better camera than Galaxy A5, because it has a camera in the back with a way higher 19 mega-pixels resolution and a lot better 3840x2160 (4K) video definition.
Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has a much bigger storage capacity for games and applications than Galaxy A5, because it has an external memory slot that holds up to 400 GB and 48 GB more internal memory. The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with a superior battery performance than Galaxy A5, because it has 3540mAh of battery capacity against 2300mAh.
Although Xperia XZ2 Premium is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Samsung Galaxy A5, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Samsung Galaxy A5.
