The Sony Xperia Z5 has a general score of 77.6, which is slightly better than the Galaxy A5's score of 72.4. These phones come with Android operating system, but Sony Xperia Z5 has a newer 5.1 version and Galaxy A5 has Android 4.4.4 version, counting with a couple additional features and some performance improvements. Sony Xperia Z5's construction is newer, but heavier and thicker than the Galaxy A5.
The Xperia Z5 has a little more vivid screen than Galaxy A5, because it has a way better 1920 x 1080 resolution, a greater display pixels density and a bit larger screen. Sony Xperia Z5 counts with just a little better performance than Galaxy A5, because although it has a 32 bits processing unit against 64-bits, and they both have a 450 megahertz graphics co-processor, the Sony Xperia Z5 also counts with more RAM and 4 more cpu cores.

Although Sony Xperia Z5 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Samsung Galaxy A5, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Samsung Galaxy A5. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy A5, letting go a couple features and specs, but you will get the most with your savings.
