Comparison review
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 is a little bit better than the Samsung Galaxy A5, having a 76.6 score against 72.4. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9's design is noticeably newer than the Samsung Galaxy A5's, but it's extremely thicker and extremely heavier. Both phones we compare here use Android OS, but the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 has the previous 10 version and Samsung Galaxy A5 has Android 4.4.4 version.
The Samsung Galaxy A5 has a little sharper screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, although it has a way lower resolution of 1280 x 720, a way lower number of pixels in each display inch and a really smaller screen. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 counts with a much greater storage for games and applications than Galaxy A5, because it has a SD memory slot that supports up to 128 GB and 64 GB internal memory.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 and Samsung Galaxy A5 feature extremely similar processors, because although the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 has a 32 bits processor against 64-bits and doesn't have an extra graphics processing unit, it also counts with a larger number of cores and more RAM. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 counts with a very superior battery lifetime than Galaxy A5, because it has 5020mAh of battery capacity.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 shoots way better photographs and videos than Samsung Galaxy A5, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same video quality, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 also has a back camera with a lot higher 48 megapixels resolution.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 costs more money than the Galaxy A5, but you can get a better phone for that few extra dollars.
