Apple iPhone XS Max has a global score of 84.5, which is slightly better than Galaxy A50's 83.8 global score. The Apple iPhone XS Max construction has the same thickness than Galaxy A50, but it's extremely heavier. Apple iPhone XS Max has a little bit better display than Galaxy A50, because it has a bit larger screen, a quite greater screen density and a quite better 1242 x 2688 resolution.
Galaxy A50 has a way bigger memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than iPhone XS Max, because it has 128 GB internal memory and a slot for external memory cards that holds up to 512 GB. The Apple iPhone XS Max features a more powerful processing unit than Samsung Galaxy A50, because although it has an inferior number of cores (but faster), and they both have 4 GB of RAM memory, the Apple iPhone XS Max also counts with a 64-bit CPU.
Galaxy A50 has improved battery duration than iPhone XS Max, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity against 3179mAh. IPhone XS Max and Samsung Galaxy A50 have very similar cameras, because although the iPhone XS Max has a way lower resolution back facing camera and a smaller aperture, it also counts with a much better (4K) video definition and a larger camera sensor.
Although Apple iPhone XS Max is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Galaxy A50, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy A50. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can buy Galaxy A50, and give up some specs and features, but you will get the most with your budget.
