Galaxy A7 (2018) has a global score of 84.2, which is a bit better than the Huawei Mate 20's 79.5 overall score. The Galaxy A7 (2018) body is just a bit thinner and somewhat lighter than the Huawei Mate 20, even though both were only released with a couple months difference. Huawei Mate 20 has a bit more powerful processor than Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018), although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores.
Huawei Mate 20 has a slightly better screen than Galaxy A7 (2018), because although it has a quite lower number of pixels per inch of display, it also counts with a slightly better resolution of 1080 x 2244 pixels and a little larger display. Galaxy A7 (2018) features a very superior memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Huawei Mate 20, and although they both have equal internal memory, the Galaxy A7 (2018) also has an external SD slot that admits up to 512 GB.
Huawei Mate 20 features just a bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018), because although it has a much less mega-pixels resolution back camera and a tinier aperture which is not so good for low light photography and videos, it also counts with a much higher (4K) video definition and a larger camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors.
