Xperia XZ2 Premium has an overall score of 82.2, which is just a bit better than the Galaxy A7's 75.4 score. Even though Xperia XZ2 Premium is a lot newer than the Galaxy A7, it's heavier and way thicker. Xperia XZ2 Premium features just a bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy A7, because although it has a 32 bits processor instead of 64-bits and doesn't have an extra GPU, and they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Xperia XZ2 Premium also counts with a larger amount of RAM memory.
The Xperia XZ2 Premium features a sharper screen than Galaxy A7, because it has a lot greater pixel density, a much higher resolution of 2160 x 3840 and a bit bigger screen. The Xperia XZ2 Premium has a way bigger memory to store more apps and games than Galaxy A7, because it has a SD extension slot that admits up to 400 GB and 64 GB internal storage capacity.
The Xperia XZ2 Premium features a superior battery duration than Galaxy A7, because it has a 3540mAh battery size. Xperia XZ2 Premium takes way better photos and videos than Galaxy A7, because it has a back facing camera with lot more mega-pixels and a way higher (4K) video resolution.
Although Xperia XZ2 Premium is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Galaxy A7, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy A7. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can buy the Galaxy A7, letting go some specs and features, but you'll get the most out of your money.
