Both phones in this review work with Android operating system, but Galaxy A12 has 10 version while Galaxy A8 (2016) has Android 6.0 Marshmallow version. The Galaxy A12 is a notably newer device than the Galaxy A8 (2016), but it is somewhat thicker and somewhat heavier.

Galaxy A8 (2016) counts with a little bit better screen than Galaxy A12, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a higher pixel number per inch in the screen and a higher 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. The Samsung Galaxy A12 counts with a lot bigger storage to store more apps and games than Galaxy A8 (2016), because it has a SD memory card expansion slot that admits a maximum of 1 TB and 64 GB internal memory.
