The Galaxy A8 Star has a global score of 82.1, which is a bit better than the Asus ROG Phone's overall score of 77.1. Although the Galaxy A8 Star and the Asus ROG Phone were released with only a couple months difference, the Galaxy A8 Star is a little bit lighter and thinner. The Asus ROG Phone features a bit better looking display than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a bit lower 1080 x 2160px resolution and a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a little greater display pixel density.
Asus ROG Phone counts with a bit faster CPU than Galaxy A8 Star, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Asus ROG Phone also has a larger amount of RAM memory. Samsung Galaxy A8 Star features a lot better camera than Asus ROG Phone, because although it has slower video frame rates and a tinier sensor, and they both have the same (4K) video quality, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star also counts with a larger aperture.
The Asus ROG Phone features a much bigger memory capacity for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 512 GB internal memory.
