Comparison review
Galaxy A8 Star is just a bit better than Huawei Mate 10, getting a global score of 82.1 against 78.9. The Galaxy A8 Star construction is newer and a little bit thinner, but also a bit heavier than Huawei Mate 10. Both phones in this comparison review include Android OS, but the Galaxy A8 Star has newer 9.0 Pie version while Huawei Mate 10 has Android 10 version.
Huawei Mate 10 counts with a better display than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a better 1440 x 2560 resolution and more pixels per screen inch. Huawei Mate 10's processing unit is just as good as the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star one, and although the Huawei Mate 10 has 2 GB less RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores.
Galaxy A8 Star features a slightly better camera than Huawei Mate 10, because although it has a smaller aperture which is worse for low-light photography, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same (4K) video resolution, the Galaxy A8 Star also counts with a larger camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors and a camera in the back with a much better 16 megapixels resolution.
Samsung Galaxy A8 Star features just a bit more memory capacity to store more apps and games than Huawei Mate 10, and although they both have equal 64 GB internal memory, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star also has a SD memory slot that supports a maximum of 400 GB. Huawei Mate 10 counts with a bit superior battery performance than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity instead of 3700mAh.
