The Galaxy A8 Star is slightly better than the Huawei Mate 20, getting a score of 82.1 against 79.5. Both of these devices work with the same Android 9.0 Pie OS (Operating System), so both of them should give identical OS features. Galaxy A8 Star's design is a little thinner but a little heavier than Huawei Mate 20, and they were released with only a couple of months difference.
