The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is a little bit better than the Galaxy A8 Star, with a score of 82.9 against 82.1. Although Huawei Mate 20 Pro and the Galaxy A8 Star were released with only 2 months difference, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro construction is a bit lighter but also thicker than the Galaxy A8 Star. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has a much better camera than Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not favorable for shooting pictures and videos in low light environments, and they both have the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same video quality, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro also counts with a way larger back-facing camera sensor capturing lot higher quality videos and pictures and a lot higher resolution back camera.
Galaxy A8 Star features more storage capacity to store more apps and games than Huawei Mate 20 Pro, because although it has just 64 GB internal memory capacity, it also counts with a slot for an SD memory card that admits a maximum of 400 GB. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro features just a bit better battery performance than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a 14 percent bigger battery capacity.
