Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has a general score of 82.1, which is a little bit better than the Huawei Mate 9 Pro's 78.7 overall score. These phones come with Android OS (operating system), but Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has the newer 9.0 Pie version while Huawei Mate 9 Pro has Android 8.0 Oreo version. The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star design has the same thickness than the Huawei Mate 9 Pro, but it's somewhat heavier.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a little more vivid display than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a greater pixels density and a better resolution of 1440 x 2560. Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a little better processing power than Galaxy A8 Star. Both have 6 GB of RAM and 8 processing cores.
Galaxy A8 Star has more storage to install applications and games than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because although it has less internal memory, it also counts with an external SD slot that allows up to 400 GB.
