The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has a general score of 82.1, which is just a bit better than the LG G7 ThinQ's general score of 81. Even though the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star and the LG G7 ThinQ were only released with a couple of months difference, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star design is just a little bit thinner but also somewhat heavier than the LG G7 ThinQ. Both of these devices work with the same Android 9.0 Pie OS, so you shouldn't perceive any difference in that aspect.

LG G7 ThinQ features a much better screen than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a little smaller display, it also counts with a better 1440 x 3120 pixels resolution and more pixels per inch in the display. LG G7 ThinQ features a superior storage capacity for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, and although they both have the same internal storage, the LG G7 ThinQ also has an external memory card slot that supports a maximum of 1,95 TB.

LG G7 ThinQ features a bit better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, although it has a lower amount of RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores. Samsung Galaxy A8 Star counts with greater battery life than LG G7 ThinQ, because it has 3700mAh of battery capacity. The LG G7 ThinQ counts with a bit better camera than Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a tinier back camera sensor shooting lower quality videos and photographs, and they both have the same resolution camera in the back and the same video resolution, the LG G7 ThinQ also counts with better 60 frames per second video frame rates and a bigger aperture to capture better photography in low-light environments.
