Samsung Galaxy A8 Star is a little bit better than the LG Q8, getting a score of 82.1 against 77.2. Both of these devices work with Android OS (operating system), but the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has the newer 9.0 Pie version and LG Q8 has Android 7.0 Nougat. Although Samsung Galaxy A8 Star is noticeably heavier than the LG Q8, it's a little thinner and also newer.

The LG Q8 counts with a sharper display than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a greater amount of pixels per inch in the display and a better resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Galaxy A8 Star features a little bit better hardware performance than LG Q8, because it has a greater amount of RAM and a larger number of cores (and they are faster).

LG Q8's camera is just as good as the camera in Galaxy A8 Star, because although the LG Q8 has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not favorable for shooting pictures or video in low-light situations, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality, the same 30 frames per second video frame rate and a 16 MP resolution back facing camera, it also counts with a bigger sensor shooting higher quality videos and photos.

The LG Q8 has more memory to install games and applications than Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has less internal storage, it also counts with a SD memory slot that allows a maximum of 1,95 TB. Samsung Galaxy A8 Star counts with greater battery duration than LG Q8, because it has a 23% more battery size.
