The Galaxy A8 Star is a bit better than LG V40 ThinQ, having an 82.1 score against 81.2. Both phones in this review work with Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy A8 Star has 9.0 Pie version while LG V40 ThinQ has Android 10, giving you a couple additional features and performance optimizations. Galaxy A8 Star is a heavier cellphone than LG V40 ThinQ, but both are equally thin.
The LG V40 ThinQ counts with a bit more powerful CPU than Galaxy A8 Star. Both of them have a 6 GB RAM and 8 processing cores. The LG V40 ThinQ has a little more vivid display than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a little bigger screen, a greater pixel quantity in each display inch and a better resolution of 1440 x 3120.
