The Motorola edge has an overall score of 89.6, which is a little bit better than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star's general score of 82.1. Both devices we compare here work with Android operating system, but the Motorola edge has the older 10 version while Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has Android 9.0 Pie version. The Motorola edge body is newer and a little lighter, but also thicker than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star.

The Motorola edge has a little better processing power than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star. They have a Octa-Core processing unit and the same RAM memory amount. Galaxy A8 Star and Motorola edge have extremely similar displays, because although the Motorola edge has a just a bit worse screen density, it also counts with a slightly higher resolution of 1080 x 2340px and a quite larger display.

The Motorola edge counts with a much better memory capacity for games and applications than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a slot for an SD memory card that supports up to 1000 GB and 256 GB internal storage capacity. The Motorola edge takes greater photographs and videos than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not good for low-light images and videos, and they both have the same video frame rates and the same video definition, the Motorola edge also counts with a camera in the back with a lot better resolution and a lot larger back camera sensor providing a way better image quality.

The Motorola edge counts with improved battery lifetime than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a 22 percent bigger battery size.
