Galaxy A8 Star is slightly better than the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, getting an 82.1 score against 81.2. Both phones we compare here work with Android OS, but the Galaxy A8 Star has a more recent 9.0 Pie version while Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has Android 5.0 version, giving you some extra features and performance enhancements. The Galaxy A8 Star construction is noticeably newer and just a little thinner than Samsung Galaxy Note 3's, but it is somewhat heavier.

Samsung Galaxy A8 Star and Galaxy Note 3 both count with extremely similar processing units, because although the Galaxy Note 3 has a lower amount of RAM memory and 4 lesser cores (although they are faster), it also counts with an extra GPU. The Galaxy Note 3 has a better looking screen than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, although it has a little bit smaller display, a little lower quantity of pixels per display inch and a little lower resolution of 1920 x 1080px.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star captures a little bit better videos and photos than Galaxy Note 3, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star also has a bigger back camera sensor which gives a better photo and video quality, a more megapixels back-facing camera and a way larger aperture.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has a better memory capacity for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and although they both have equal internal memory, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star also has a slot for an SD memory card that admits up to 400 GB. The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star features just a little better battery duration than Galaxy Note 3, because it has a 16% more battery capacity.
