The Galaxy A8 Star is slightly better than Galaxy XCover 5, with a score of 82.1 against 78.1. The Galaxy A8 Star body is somewhat thinner than Galaxy XCover 5, but it is just a bit heavier and was released 3 years before. Both phones in this review have Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy A8 Star has a newer 9.0 Pie version while Galaxy XCover 5 has Android 11 version, providing you some additional features and improved performance.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has a bit sharper display than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, because it has a lot better resolution of 1080 x 2220, a higher display density and a larger screen. The Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 has a quite bigger memory for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, and although they both have the same 64 GB internal memory capacity, the Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 also has an external SD slot that supports up to 1 TB.
