Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has an overall score of 82.1, which is a little bit better than Galaxy XCover FieldPro's overall score of 80.1. Samsung Galaxy A8 Star's construction is notably lighter and a lot thinner than Galaxy XCover FieldPro, although it was released only 20 months before. These phones include Android operating system, but the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has the newer 9.0 Pie version and Galaxy XCover FieldPro has Android 8.0 Oreo version, so it gives some nice extra features and performance improvements.

Samsung Galaxy XCover FieldPro has a bit superior CPU than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, although it has a smaller amount of RAM, they both have the same number of cores. Samsung Galaxy XCover FieldPro counts with a better screen than Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a better resolution of 1440 x 2560 and a better pixels quantity in each screen inch.

Galaxy XCover FieldPro has a little bit better storage for apps and games than Galaxy A8 Star, and although they both have the same 64 GB internal storage capacity, the Galaxy XCover FieldPro also has a SD memory card expansion slot that holds up to 512 GB. Samsung Galaxy XCover FieldPro counts with superior battery duration than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity.

Galaxy A8 Star counts with a greater camera than Galaxy XCover FieldPro, because although it has a tinier back-facing camera sensor which gives a lower image and video quality and a smaller aperture which is not recommended for taking photos and/or video in low light environments, it also counts with a camera with a way better resolution and a way better 3840x2160 (4K) video definition.
