Comparison review
The Xperia 5 III is much better than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, getting a 90.5 score against 82.1. Xperia 5 III is a noticeably newer and somewhat lighter cellphone than the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, but it's a little thicker. Both phones in this comparison review work with Android operating system, but the Xperia 5 III has 11 version while Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has Android 9.0 Pie.
The Xperia 5 III has a bit more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a quite higher pixel number in each inch of screen and a bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2520. The Xperia 5 III counts with a much better memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has 256 GB internal storage capacity and a SD memory card expansion slot that allows a maximum of 1 TB.
The Sony Xperia 5 III features a little bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Sony Xperia 5 III also has a higher amount of RAM memory. Xperia 5 III has greater battery performance than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity instead of 3700mAh.
The Xperia 5 III has a little bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a lower video resolution and a way less megapixels resolution back facing camera, and they both have the same diafragm aperture, the Xperia 5 III also counts with a lot bigger camera sensor providing a way higher image quality.
