Comparison review
The Galaxy A8 Star has a score of 82.1, which is slightly better than the Xperia XA2 Plus's global score of 78.6. Both devices we compare here use Android OS, but Galaxy A8 Star has 9.0 Pie version while Xperia XA2 Plus has Android 8.0 Oreo version, providing the user some extra features. Even though the Galaxy A8 Star and the Xperia XA2 Plus were released with only 0 months difference, the Galaxy A8 Star is a little bit lighter and incredibly thinner.
The Sony Xperia XA2 Plus has a little bit better display than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a quite smaller screen and a bit worse resolution of 1080 x 2160px, it also counts with a just a bit higher pixel count per inch in the display. Xperia XA2 Plus features as much storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos as the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, they have the same 64 GB internal storage capacity and an external memory slot that supports a maximum of 400 GB.

The Sony Xperia XA2 Plus shoots slightly better photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not favorable for shooting pictures and/or video in low-light environments, and they both have the same video quality and the same 30 frames per second video frame rates, the Sony Xperia XA2 Plus also counts with a bigger camera sensor which gives a better image and video quality and a back-facing camera with much more MP.
