Samsung Galaxy A8 Star is just a bit better than Xiaomi 12 Pro, getting an 82.1 score against 79.6. Despite of the fact that the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star is extremely older than Xiaomi 12 Pro, it's body is just a little bit lighter and a little bit thinner. Both phones in this review use Android operating system, but Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has the newer 9.0 Pie version and Xiaomi 12 Pro has Android 12, offering some nice extra features.
Xiaomi 12 Pro features a better screen than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a higher pixels density, a better 1440 x 3200 resolution and a bit bigger screen. The Galaxy A8 Star features a quite bigger storage capacity for games and applications than Xiaomi 12 Pro, because although it has less internal storage capacity, it also counts with a slot for an SD memory card that admits a maximum of 400 GB.
The Galaxy A8 Star has a much more powerful processor than Xiaomi 12 Pro, although it has a lower amount of RAM memory, they both have a Octa-Core CPU. Xiaomi 12 Pro features improved battery duration than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a 4600mAh battery size instead of 3700mAh. Xiaomi 12 Pro takes much better pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not recommended for low light images and videos, it also counts with a much higher 50 megapixels resolution back-facing camera, a lot higher 7680x4320 video resolution and a lot bigger back-facing camera sensor.
