Comparison review
The Galaxy A8 Star has a general score of 82.1, which is slightly better than the Xiaomi Black Shark's score of 80.4. Even though Galaxy A8 Star and the Xiaomi Black Shark were released only 4 months apart, the Galaxy A8 Star body is just a little heavier but somewhat thinner than the Xiaomi Black Shark. These phones have the same Android 9.0 Pie operating system.
The Xiaomi Black Shark features a little better hardware performance than Galaxy A8 Star, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Xiaomi Black Shark also has a greater amount of RAM memory. Xiaomi Black Shark has just a bit better screen than Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a bit smaller display and a bit lower 1080 x 2160 resolution, it also counts with a just a little more pixels per inch of display.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has just a bit better camera than Xiaomi Black Shark, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star also has a larger camera sensor which provides a higher image and video quality, a lot more mega-pixels back facing camera and a larger camera aperture to take better photos and video in low light situations.
Samsung Galaxy A8 Star counts with a better memory to store more games and applications than Xiaomi Black Shark, because although it has just 64 GB internal storage, it also counts with a SD memory slot that supports a maximum of 400 GB. Xiaomi Black Shark features a bit superior battery life than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity instead of 3700mAh.
