The Galaxy A8 Star has a general score of 82.1, which is slightly better than the Xiaomi Black Shark's score of 80.4. Even though Galaxy A8 Star and the Xiaomi Black Shark were released only 4 months apart, the Galaxy A8 Star body is just a little heavier but somewhat thinner than the Xiaomi Black Shark. These phones have the same Android 9.0 Pie operating system.
The Xiaomi Black Shark features a little better hardware performance than Galaxy A8 Star, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Xiaomi Black Shark also has a greater amount of RAM memory. Xiaomi Black Shark features a bit superior battery life than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity instead of 3700mAh.
