Comparison review

Galaxy A8 Star is slightly better than the Xiaomi Mi A3, with a global score of 82.1 against 79.2. Galaxy A8 Star is an older and just a bit heavier device than the Xiaomi Mi A3, but Samsung made it a little bit thinner anyway. Both phones we compare here have Android OS, but the Galaxy A8 Star has the newer 9.0 Pie version while Xiaomi Mi A3 has Android 11, giving some extra features and a performance increase.

Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has a bit more powerful CPU than Xiaomi Mi A3, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star also has a larger amount of RAM memory. The Galaxy A8 Star features a little bit better screen than Xiaomi Mi A3, because it has a greater amount of pixels per inch of display, a much higher 1080 x 2220 resolution and a bit larger display.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 captures much clearer photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not good for taking photographs and videos in low light situations, and they both have the same (4K) video quality and the same video frame rates, the Xiaomi Mi A3 also counts with a larger back camera sensor which gives a higher image and video quality and a much more megapixels back camera.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 has a better storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a SD memory card expansion slot that supports a maximum of 256 GB against 400 GB, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage capacity. Xiaomi Mi A3 has a little better battery duration than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because it has 4030mAh of battery capacity instead of 3700mAh.
