Galaxy A8 Star has an overall score of 82.1, which is a little bit better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9's general score of 76.6. The Galaxy A8 Star construction is thinner and a bit lighter than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, although it was released only 21 months before. Both phones we compare here have Android OS (Operating System), but the Galaxy A8 Star has a newer 9.0 Pie version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 has Android 10 version, giving you some nice extra features and optimized performance.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 counts with a screen that is just as good as the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star one, although the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 also has a little bit greater pixels density, a little larger screen and a bit higher 1080 x 2340 resolution. The Galaxy A8 Star features more memory for games and applications than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and although they both have equal internal storage capacity, the Galaxy A8 Star also has a SD memory card expansion slot that allows a maximum of 400 GB.
Samsung Galaxy A8 Star counts with a bit better processor than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star also has a larger amount of RAM memory. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 takes slightly better photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not favorable for taking photos and videos in low-light situations, and they both have the same (Full HD) video definition and the same 30 fps video frame rate, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 also counts with a much better 48 megapixels resolution camera in the back and a lot larger camera sensor which provides a much higher photo and video quality.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 features better battery performance than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a 5020mAh battery size.
