The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has a general score of 82.1, which is a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy Alpha's 76.3 overall score. Both of these phones use Android OS (operating system), but Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has a newer 9.0 Pie version while Samsung Galaxy Alpha has Android 4.4.4 version, so it gives a couple nice extra features and performance improvements. The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star is a much heavier and thicker cellphone than the Samsung Galaxy Alpha.

The Galaxy Alpha has a bit more powerful processor than Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory and a lower number of cores , it also counts with an extra graphics co-processor. Galaxy Alpha counts with a slightly better screen than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, although it has a quite worse screen pixels density, a way lower 1280 x 720 resolution and a really smaller screen.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star counts with a slightly better camera than Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star also has a much bigger aperture and a camera in the back with a way higher resolution.

The Galaxy A8 Star features a much greater storage capacity for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has more internal memory capacity and a slot for an external memory card that holds a maximum of 400 GB. Galaxy A8 Star has a way better battery performance than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has 3700mAh of battery capacity instead of 1860mAh.
