Comparison review
The Xperia XZ1 has a score of 78.3, which is a bit better than Samsung Galaxy Alpha's global score of 76.3. Despite being the best in our current comparison, Xperia XZ1 is a somewhat thicker and noticeably heavier phone than Samsung Galaxy Alpha. The Sony Xperia XZ1 counts with a processing unit that is just as good as Galaxy Alpha's processing unit, because although the Sony Xperia XZ1 has doesn't have a GPU, it also counts with a larger number of cores and 2 GB more RAM.
Galaxy Alpha has a little bit better screen than Xperia XZ1, although it has a lot worse resolution of 1280 x 720px, way less pixels per inch of screen and a little smaller screen. The Sony Xperia XZ1 shoots much better photographs and videos than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same video resolution, the Sony Xperia XZ1 also has a back camera with much more mega-pixels and a larger aperture.
The Xperia XZ1 features a much bigger storage capacity to store more apps and games than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has 32 GB more internal memory and a slot for an SD memory card that holds up to 1,95 TB. Sony Xperia XZ1 features a much longer battery duration than Galaxy Alpha, because it has a 2700mAh battery size.
Although Sony Xperia XZ1 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Galaxy Alpha, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy Alpha. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Sony Xperia XZ1, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Galaxy Alpha, giving up some specs and features.
