The Galaxy A8 Star has a general score of 82.1, which is much better than Samsung Galaxy J7 Refine's general score of 72.7. Both of these devices include Android OS (Operating System), but the Galaxy A8 Star has newer 9.0 Pie version and Samsung Galaxy J7 Refine has Android 8.0 Oreo, so it provides you some nice extra features. The Galaxy A8 Star body is somewhat thinner but just a little heavier than Samsung Galaxy J7 Refine, and both of them were released only 2 months apart.
Galaxy A8 Star has a more vivid screen than Galaxy J7 Refine, because it has a little bit bigger screen, a higher pixel density and a much better resolution of 1080 x 2220.
