Comparison review
Samsung Galaxy M40 has a score of 85, which is slightly better than the Xperia XZ2's 79.1 global score. The Samsung Galaxy M40 is a newer cellphone, and it is also somewhat lighter and thinner than Xperia XZ2. Xperia XZ2 has a bit sharper display than Samsung Galaxy M40, because although it has a bit worse resolution of 1080 x 2160 and a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a quite higher pixels amount in each display inch.
The Galaxy M40 has a much better memory capacity to install applications and games than Sony Xperia XZ2, because it has a slot for external memory cards that allows a maximum of 512 GB and more internal memory. Xperia XZ2 has just a bit better processing power than Galaxy M40, although it has a smaller amount of RAM, they both have a Octa-Core processing unit.
The Samsung Galaxy M40 shoots clearer pictures and videos than Xperia XZ2, because although it has a tinier sensor capturing less light and dull colors and lower video frame rate, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Samsung Galaxy M40 also counts with a larger diafragm aperture for better low-light photos and a camera in the back with a way higher resolution.
Galaxy M40 has just a bit better battery performance than Xperia XZ2, because it has a 10 percent larger battery size.
