IPhone 8 has a general score of 85, which is a bit better than the Galaxy Note 5's 79.3 global score. IPhone 8 is a a lot newer cellphone, and it's also lighter and a little bit thinner than Galaxy Note 5. Galaxy Note 5 has a brighter screen than iPhone 8, because it has a way better pixels amount per inch in the screen, a much higher 2560 x 1440 resolution and a larger display.

The Apple iPhone 8 has a more powerful processor than Samsung Galaxy Note 5, because although it has a lower amount of RAM memory, it also counts with a larger number of cores (and faster) and a 64 bits CPU. The Apple iPhone 8 takes a little bit better photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Note 5, because although it has a back-facing camera with a way worse resolution, a lower 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and a smaller camera sensor offering a worse image quality, it also counts with a larger aperture to take better images in poorly lited environments.

The Apple iPhone 8 features a lot bigger storage capacity for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Note 5, because it has 192 GB more internal memory. Galaxy Note 5 features a way better battery lifetime than Apple iPhone 8, because it has a 3000mAh battery capacity instead of 1821mAh.

Although iPhone 8 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the iPhone 8, but if you don't you can save some money and buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, resigning some features and specs.
