Xperia XZ2 Premium features a little better hardware performance than Galaxy Note Edge, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processing unit, it also counts with a higher number of cores (and they are faster) and 3 GB more RAM memory.

The Xperia XZ2 Premium has a bit better camera than Galaxy Note Edge, and although they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Xperia XZ2 Premium also has a back facing camera with more MP, a larger back camera sensor shooting higher quality photographs and a bigger aperture to take better images in poorly lited environments.

Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with superior battery life than Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, because it has a 3540mAh battery capacity against 3000mAh.

Although Xperia XZ2 Premium is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Galaxy Note Edge, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy Note Edge. So if you want that extra features, you can buy Xperia XZ2 Premium, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy Note Edge, letting go some specifications.
