The Galaxy Note Edge is slightly better than Xperia Z3, getting a general score of 81.7 against 77.3. The Galaxy Note Edge body is a bit heavier but a bit thinner than Xperia Z3, and they were released with only 0 months difference. Both devices in this review have Android operating system, but the Galaxy Note Edge has a newer 5.0 version while Xperia Z3 has Android 4.4.4 version, so it counts with a couple nice extra features.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge has a little faster CPU than Xperia Z3, and although they both have a Quad-Core CPU and a 3 GB RAM, the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge also has a much better 500 MHz graphics processor. The Sony Xperia Z3 and Samsung Galaxy Note Edge count with very similar screens, although the Sony Xperia Z3 has a little smaller display, a much lower resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a little worse display pixel density.

The Sony Xperia Z3 captures clearer videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, and although they both have the same (4K) video definition and the same video frame rate, the Sony Xperia Z3 also has a bigger aperture to capture better photos and video in poorly lited situations, a way higher resolution back facing camera and a larger back camera sensor which offers a higher image and video quality.

The Xperia Z3 and Samsung Galaxy Note Edge have similar storage for apps and games, both have a slot for SD memory cards that allows up to 128 GB and equal 32 GB internal memory. Xperia Z3 has a little better battery performance than Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, because it has a 3200mAh battery size against 3000mAh.

Although Galaxy Note Edge is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Xperia Z3, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Xperia Z3. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Galaxy Note Edge, otherwise you can save some money and buy the Xperia Z3, giving up a couple features and specifications.
