Galaxy A40 is a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy Note II, with a global score of 79.6 against 74.8. The Galaxy A40 is a much newer phone, and it is also somewhat thinner and noticeably lighter than the Samsung Galaxy Note II. These devices include Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy A40 has older 11 version and Samsung Galaxy Note II has Android 4.4.2.

The Samsung Galaxy A40 has a little more vivid display than Galaxy Note II, because it has a little bigger screen, a lot better pixels number per screen inch and a lot better resolution of 1080 x 2340. The Galaxy A40 has a much greater storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy Note II, and although they both have the same 64 GB internal storage capacity, the Galaxy A40 also has a slot for an SD memory card that allows up to 512 GB.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II counts with just a little better hardware performance than Galaxy A40, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory and a lower number of cores and they are also slower, it also counts with an additional GPU. Galaxy A40 features a battery lifetime that's very similar to the battery duration in Galaxy Note II.

The Samsung Galaxy A40 shoots a lot better pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy Note II, and although they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate and the same (Full HD) video quality, the Samsung Galaxy A40 also has a back-facing camera with way more megapixels.
