Comparison review

Galaxy Note8 is a little bit better than Huawei P20, getting a overall score of 83 against 78.1. Both phones in our current comparison come with the same Android 9.0 Pie OS (operating system), so both should provide very similar OS features. Despite being the best we are comparing here, the Galaxy Note8 is a somewhat thicker and somewhat heavier cellphone than Huawei P20.

Galaxy Note8 features a little more vivid screen than Huawei P20, because it has a better 1440 x 2960 resolution, a bit larger screen and a just a bit greater display pixel density. Samsung Galaxy Note8 features just a little better hardware performance than Huawei P20, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Samsung Galaxy Note8 also has 2 GB more RAM.

Huawei P20 shoots just a bit better videos and photos than Galaxy Note8, because although it has a smaller aperture, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the same 30 fps video frame rate and a camera in the back with a 12 mega-pixels resolution, the Huawei P20 also counts with a bigger back-facing camera sensor.

Samsung Galaxy Note8 counts with just a bit bigger memory to store more games and applications than Huawei P20, because although it has 0 less internal memory, it also counts with a slot for SD memory cards that holds up to 256 GB. Huawei P20 features just a little bit longer battery performance than Galaxy Note8, because it has a 3400mAh battery size.

Although Samsung Galaxy Note8 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Huawei P20, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Huawei P20. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Note8, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Huawei P20, giving up some features and specs.
