The iPhone 8 is better than the Galaxy S III, with an 85 score against 74.8. IPhone 8's construction is way newer and thinner than the Galaxy S III's, although it is also heavier. Apple iPhone 8 features a better hardware performance than Galaxy S III, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processing unit, and they both have the same RAM memory amount, the Apple iPhone 8 also counts with a 64-bits CPU and a larger number of cores (and also faster).

The Samsung Galaxy S III features a slightly better looking display than Apple iPhone 8, because although it has a lot more opaque screen, a bit lower resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a little worse screen pixels density, it also counts with a little bit larger screen. IPhone 8 has much more storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy S III, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 224 GB more internal memory capacity.

Samsung Galaxy S III counts with just a little better battery performance than Apple iPhone 8, because it has a 2100mAh battery capacity. Apple iPhone 8 has a superior camera than Galaxy S III, and although they both have the same camera sensor size, the Apple iPhone 8 also has a lot larger aperture for better images and video in low-light situations, a camera with lot more MP and a lot better 3840x2160 (4K) video quality.

Although iPhone 8 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Galaxy S III, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Galaxy S III. If you want to save a few dollars, you can buy the Galaxy S III, giving up a couple features and specs, but you will get the most with your money.
