Comparison review

The Xperia XZ1 has a score of 78.3, which is a bit better than the Galaxy S III's 74.8 score. Although Xperia XZ1 is somewhat heavier than Galaxy S III, it's somewhat thinner and also way newer. Xperia XZ1 features a little bit better performance than Galaxy S III, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics processing unit, it also counts with a greater number of cores (and faster) and a greater amount of RAM memory.

The Galaxy S III counts with a little more vivid screen than Xperia XZ1, although it has a quite smaller screen, a way worse 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and a lot lower screen density. Xperia XZ1 captures a lot better pictures and videos than Galaxy S III, because it has a much bigger aperture to take better images and videos in low light situations, a camera with lot more megapixels, a much better 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and a much larger back-facing camera sensor.

The Xperia XZ1 features a much better memory for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy S III, because it has an external memory slot that supports a maximum of 1,95 TB and more internal memory. The Xperia XZ1 features greater battery performance than Samsung Galaxy S III, because it has a 2700mAh battery capacity instead of 2100mAh.

Although Sony Xperia XZ1 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Samsung Galaxy S III, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Samsung Galaxy S III. So if you want that extra features, you can buy Sony Xperia XZ1, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and get the Samsung Galaxy S III, giving up a couple specifications.
