The Apple iPhone XS Max has an overall score of 84.5, which is a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy S4's global score of 79. The Apple iPhone XS Max body is noticeably newer and a little bit thinner than the Samsung Galaxy S4's, but it is noticeably heavier. Samsung Galaxy S4 has just a bit better looking display than iPhone XS Max, although it has a much lower 1920 x 1080px resolution, a way smaller screen and a quite worse screen density.
Samsung Galaxy S4 counts with a much better storage capacity for apps and games than Apple iPhone XS Max, and although they both have equal 64 GB internal storage, the Samsung Galaxy S4 also has a SD card slot that admits up to 64 GB. The iPhone XS Max counts with a superior processor than Galaxy S4, because although it has doesn't have a graphics processing unit, it also counts with a larger number of faster cores, a 64-bits processor and a larger amount of RAM memory.
The Apple iPhone XS Max has better battery performance than Galaxy S4, because it has a 22% more battery capacity. The Apple iPhone XS Max has a better camera than Galaxy S4, because although it has a worse 12 megapixels resolution back-facing camera, it also counts with a larger back-facing camera sensor shooting better quality videos and photos, a larger diafragm aperture and a much better 3840x2160 video definition.
Although iPhone XS Max is a better device, it is way more expensive than Samsung Galaxy S4, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Samsung Galaxy S4. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy iPhone XS Max, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy S4, resigning some specifications.
