Comparison review
HTC One M9 has a global score of 77.7, which is a bit better than Galaxy S5 Active's 75.6 general score. HTC One M9's construction is just a bit thicker but just a little lighter than Galaxy S5 Active, and both were released only 8 months apart. Both devices in this review have Android OS (operating system), but the HTC One M9 has the newer 5.0 version while Galaxy S5 Active has Android 4.4.4 version, so it provides a couple additional features and increased performance.
The HTC One M9 features a bit better processor than Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, because it has a faster 600 MHz graphics processing unit, a higher number of cores (but slower), more RAM and a 64-bit processor. The HTC One M9 counts with a bit more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, because although it has a bit smaller display, and they both have the same resolution of 1920 x 1080px, the HTC One M9 also counts with a little bit better display density.
HTC One M9 takes much clearer videos and photos than Galaxy S5 Active, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the HTC One M9 also has a back-facing camera with a higher 20 MP resolution. HTC One M9 features a superior storage for apps and games than Galaxy S5 Active, and although they both have an external memory card slot that holds up to 128 GB, the HTC One M9 also has 32 GB internal memory.
The HTC One M9's battery performance is just as good as Samsung Galaxy S5 Active's battery lifetime, although the HTC One M9 also has a 1 percent more battery capacity.
HTC One M9 is not only the best devices of the ones we are comparing here, but it's also a bit cheaper, making this phone a very good choice.
