Samsung Galaxy S5 Active Review

Samsung Galaxy S5 Active is a very complete Android phone launched some years ago, in 2014, provisioned with a pretty large 5.1-inches screen, a great Quad-Core CPU speeding at 2500 megahertz, a 16 MP back-facing camera and a 2 megapixels front-facing camera. Is that all? Not at all, it's just the starting point of a detailed review.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Active is offerred in 3 colors, gray, green and red. Being just 0.35" thick,this phone is thin and good-looking. This phone only has 5.72" long and 2.89 inches wide, but it's still able to fit a a 5.1 inches screen. Samsung didn't seem to put much effort to reduce weight in this 6 oz phone.

The S5 Active comes with a very powerful Quad-Core processing unit ticking at 2500 MHz, bundled in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chip and a great 2 GB RAM memory. Graphic rendering usually consume lots of processor cycles, so it uses a 450 MHz Adreno 330 GPU to improve overall performance. A good advantage of this phone is its 16 GB quite large internal storage and an SD memory slot, enough to store a couple hundred games and applications without worrying about space.

The S5 Active has two cameras, a 16 mega-pixels back camera and a 2 mega-pixels front camera. The S5 Active can also film videos up to 3840x2160 (4K) at 30 fps. In addition, the camera includes many cool features like auto-focus, flash, fast burst mode, digital image stabilization, face detection shooting, HDR mode, smile detection shooting and geo tagging.

This cellphone is equipped with a spectacular 5.1 inches screen with a 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) resolution, which makes all images and videos look beautiful and brightful. This screen uses Super AMOLED capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch for gestures like pinch and zoom.

This phone provides wi-fi connection (which it can share with other devices around, as a mobile hotspot), 4G LTE fast data connection and the fastest 3G connection type, over HSPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. This cellphone uses a Micro SIM card to use GSM services.

This cellphone features a 2800 mAh inmense Li-Ion removable battery providing this cellphone an extremely long battery life. According to Samsung, this phone has an aproximate 29 hs talk time and a 480 hours stand by time.

The S5 Active also comes with a handful of cool features like NFC (to trigger actions, transfer data or make payments by holding your cellphone close to another NFC device or tag), Bluetooth (provides communication with other bluetooth phones and accessories) and GPS Navigation, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Barometer and Compass.

The S5 Active is priced 199 dollars, similar to other same level phones. This cellphone is a great choice for you if you want a cellphone to play games, want it to take tons of photos, want a work cellphone or want a social phone.
