Comparison review
The Huawei Mate 8 has a general score of 77.4, which is just a bit better than the Galaxy S5 Active's global score of 75.6. Even though the Huawei Mate 8 is just a little heavier than the Galaxy S5 Active, it's thinner and also newer. The Galaxy S5 Active features a little faster processing unit than Huawei Mate 8, because although it has an inferior number of cores and lesser RAM, it also counts with an extra graphics processing unit.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Active counts with a brighter display than Huawei Mate 8, because although it has a quite smaller display, and they both have the same 1920 x 1080 resolution, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active also counts with a bit more pixels per display inch. The Huawei Mate 8 captures just a bit better videos and photos than Galaxy S5 Active, and although they both have the same resolution camera in the back and the same video definition, the Huawei Mate 8 also has faster 60 frames per second video frame rate.
The Huawei Mate 8 features a very superior storage capacity to store more apps and games than Galaxy S5 Active, and although they both have a slot for an external memory card that admits up to 128 GB, the Huawei Mate 8 also has 112 GB more internal storage capacity. Huawei Mate 8 has a superior battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, because it has a 4000mAh battery size instead of 2800mAh.
Although Huawei Mate 8 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Huawei Mate 8, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, letting go some features and specifications.
