Comparison review
Huawei Mate 9 Pro is slightly better than Galaxy S5 Active, with a general score of 78.7 against 75.6. Both of these phones have Android operating system, but Huawei Mate 9 Pro has 8.0 Oreo version and Galaxy S5 Active has Android 4.4.4, providing a couple nice extra features. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a newer cellphone, and it's also thinner and a little lighter than the Galaxy S5 Active.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a processing unit that is very similar to the Galaxy S5 Active one, because although the Huawei Mate 9 Pro has doesn't have a graphics processor, it also counts with a higher amount of RAM memory and a greater number of cores. Samsung Galaxy S5 Active features a slightly better screen than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, although it has a bit smaller display, a way worse 1920 x 1080px resolution and a just a little inferior pixel number in each inch of screen.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a very superior storage capacity for games and applications than Galaxy S5 Active, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with more internal storage. Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a very superior battery duration than Galaxy S5 Active, because it has a 4000mAh battery size instead of 2800mAh.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro captures better pictures and videos than Galaxy S5 Active, although it has a way lower 12 mega-pixels resolution back facing camera and a worse 3840x2160 video quality.
Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Galaxy S5 Active, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy S5 Active. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy Huawei Mate 9 Pro, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Galaxy S5 Active, letting go a couple features and specifications.
