Comparison review
Galaxy Note 5 has a score of 79.3, which is slightly better than the Galaxy S5 Active's general score of 75.6. Both devices in this comparison use Android operating system, but the Galaxy Note 5 has a newer 5.1 version while Galaxy S5 Active has Android 4.4.4, so it provides you lots of additional features. Even though Galaxy Note 5 is a little heavier than Galaxy S5 Active, it's somewhat thinner and newer.
The Galaxy S5 Active has a superior performance than Galaxy Note 5, because although it has less RAM, it also counts with a greater number of faster cores and an additional GPU. Galaxy Note 5 features just a bit better looking display than Galaxy S5 Active, because it has a little bigger display, a just a little more pixels per inch in the screen and a better resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.
Galaxy Note 5 counts with a much better camera than Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. Both have the same resolution back camera, the same video frame rates and the same (4K) video resolution. Although Galaxy Note 5 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Galaxy S5 Active, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy S5 Active. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can buy the Galaxy S5 Active, letting go a couple features, but you will get the most out of your money.
