Comparison review
Galaxy Note8 is just a bit better than Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, getting an 83 score against 75.6. Galaxy Note8's design is way newer and a bit thinner, but also somewhat heavier than the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. These phones include Android OS (Operating System), but the Galaxy Note8 has 9.0 Pie version while Samsung Galaxy S5 Active has Android 4.4.4 version.
Galaxy S5 Active features a little sharper display than Samsung Galaxy Note8, although it has a bit smaller display, a lot lower 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and a quite worse display pixel density. Samsung Galaxy Note8 features a much bigger storage capacity to store more games and applications than Galaxy S5 Active, because it has more internal storage and an external SD slot that admits a maximum of 256 GB.
Samsung Galaxy Note8 counts with a processing unit that is just as good as the CPU in Galaxy S5 Active, because although the Samsung Galaxy Note8 has doesn't have an additional GPU, it also counts with more RAM and 4 more processing cores. Galaxy Note8 counts with better battery lifetime than Galaxy S5 Active, because it has a 3300mAh battery size against 2800mAh.
The Samsung Galaxy Note8 counts with a much better camera than Galaxy S5 Active, although it has a lower 3840x2160 video resolution and a way less megapixels resolution back facing camera.
Although Samsung Galaxy Note8 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy Samsung Galaxy Note8, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, resigning some specifications.
