Apple iPhone 8 has a general score of 85, which is slightly better than the Galaxy S5 Sport's global score of 77.8. Apple iPhone 8 is a newer cellphone, and it is also just a little bit lighter and somewhat thinner than Galaxy S5 Sport. Galaxy S5 Sport has a much better looking display than iPhone 8, because it has a much better 1920 x 1080px resolution, more pixels per inch in the screen and a little larger display.
The iPhone 8 counts with a little faster processing unit than Galaxy S5 Sport, because although it has doesn't have a graphics processing unit, and they both have 2 GB of RAM memory, the iPhone 8 also counts with a higher number of cores (although slower) and a 64-bits processor. The Apple iPhone 8 counts with a superior memory capacity to install games and applications than Galaxy S5 Sport, because although it has no external memory slot, it also counts with more internal storage capacity.
IPhone 8 takes a bit better pictures and videos than Galaxy S5 Sport, because although it has a worse video quality, a back facing camera with a much lower resolution and a smaller camera sensor offering a worse image quality, it also counts with a larger diafragm aperture to capture better photography and video in poorly lited situations.
Galaxy S5 Sport has a very superior battery life than iPhone 8, because it has a 2800mAh battery size.
Although Apple iPhone 8 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Galaxy S5 Sport, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy S5 Sport. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can buy Galaxy S5 Sport, and give up a few features and specifications, but you will get the most out of your budget.
