Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ is just a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, with a global score of 79.3 against 76.3. Both of these phones work with Android operating system, but Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ has the newer 5.1 version while Samsung Galaxy Alpha has Android 4.4.4 version, providing a lot of extra features. Even being the best cellphone in our current comparison, Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ is a a lot heavier and just a bit thicker cellphone than the Samsung Galaxy Alpha.

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha features a better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM, it also counts with a higher number of cores and a graphics processing unit. Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ counts with a sharper screen than Galaxy Alpha, because it has a way higher display pixels density, a much better 2560 x 1440 resolution and a bigger display.

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ has a very superior storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy Alpha, because it has 32 GB more internal memory. Galaxy S6 edge+ has a much better battery duration than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has 3000mAh of battery capacity. Galaxy S6 edge+ shoots clearer videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the Galaxy S6 edge+ also has a back facing camera with a way better 16 mega-pixels resolution and a larger camera aperture to capture better images and videos in low light situations.

Although Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ is a better device, it costs more money than Galaxy Alpha, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Galaxy Alpha. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy Alpha, giving up a couple specifications.
