Comparison review
The Sony Xperia 1 is slightly better than Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, getting a score of 82.6 against 79.3. The Sony Xperia 1 construction is newer than the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+'s, but it's somewhat thicker and somewhat heavier. Xperia 1 features a bit more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, because it has a little higher pixels number per screen inch, a little bit bigger screen and a higher 1644 x 3840px resolution.
The Xperia 1 counts with a better CPU than Galaxy S6 edge+, because it has more RAM memory and a larger number of cores. Galaxy S6 edge+ shoots a bit better videos and photos than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not favorable for low light photos and video, and they both have a 0.38 inches sensor and the same (4K) video quality, the Galaxy S6 edge+ also counts with a way higher 16 mega-pixels resolution back camera and higher video frame rate.
Sony Xperia 1 has a way bigger storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy S6 edge+, because it has a slot for external memory cards that supports up to 512 GB and more internal storage. Sony Xperia 1 features just a bit longer battery duration than Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, because it has 3330mAh of battery capacity.
Although Sony Xperia 1 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Galaxy S6 edge+, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy S6 edge+. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Sony Xperia 1, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the Galaxy S6 edge+, giving up a couple specifications.
